I saw an advert the other day for Sensa - something that Octavia Spencer from The Help has been using to help her lose weight. She's lost 20 pounds and all she does is sprinkle this stuff on her food.
She hasn't had to change her eating habits or the portion sizes she provides herself, she just sprinkles this stuff on her food and away she goes.
Great, right? Well no. I'm not claiming to be an expert - far from it! But if there's anything that 3 years of healthy (healthier) eating has taught me, it's that you DO need to change. Your attitude to food, portion sizes and what you actually put in.
We would all love a quick fix but the simple truth is that a quick fix doesn't work. Because it could go the other way as soon as you revert back to your old behaviours. You actually have to make a conscious decision to consider what it is you're putting into your body - it's a temple, after all! Sometimes that temple wants (needs?!) some Ben & Jerry's but more often than not - something fresh and green is the better way to go.
I haven't always got that right and god knows I love to kick back with pizza and cider but I write down everything I eat, I have to! I'm not blessed with a perfect metabolism and unfortunately, I'm pretty damn lazy! If quick fixes worked, we'd all be doing them and no one would be at the gym!
